Our Vision
It is our belief that every child is capable of learning and success. They also have the right to learn in a safe and enriching environment. It is our goal as teachers to supply and foster a learning environment that benefits all students to their utmost potential. The ultimate goal is to bestow upon all students higher-level thinking skills and the tools necessary to launch successful futures for themselves and society. Students are the learners of today and the leaders of tomorrow.

Hello everyone! My name is Andrea McCleary. I am excited to begin my 5th year as a member of the wonderful 2nd grade team! I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors degree in Education and a minor in Children's Psychology - Hook'em Horns!!! You can most likely find me curled up with a good book, scouting out a new coffee shop, or hanging out at a dog park with my husband Ryan and Border Collie pup named Phoebe.
We also have two, very fluffy, Maine Coon cats named Barley and Delilah.

Hi there! My name is Kelly Strange and I am proud to be a Bush second grade teacher. I grew up on a corn and cattle farm in Illinois and graduated from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!). My husband and I live right in the Bush zone and are the proud parents of two former Bobcats. If you ever ask me about them, I will tell you what a great foundational education they both received at Bush and what stellar things they have accomplished as a result
of that foundation. As an avid reader myself, I share my joy of reading with children and love to ignite their enthusiasm for reading. I believe the world is opened to us through literature.

Math, Science, & Social Studies
Hi! I am Sandra Carlin. I teach 2nd grade Math, Science, and Social Studies. I grew up in Houston and went to all HISD schools, then graduated from Southwest Texas State University (Texas State now). I have been married to my wonderful husband, David, for 20 years and we have two amazing children, Ellie (13) who is in 8th grade at Westbriar Middle school, and Charlie (10) who is in 5th grade here at Bush. I began my teaching career 23 years ago here at
Bush Elementary in 1996. I am so blessed to teach such wonderful children in the best school there is!

Hello everyone! My name is Jamie Brown. I'm excited to be returning to the Bush Elementary 2nd grade team! I teach math, science and social studies. I was born and raised in Houston and attended The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). I'm looking forward to a wonderful year and getting to know everyone.

Hello everyone! My name is Shelby Narro. I'm excited to be returning to Bush Elementary for my fourth year teaching second grade! I teach math, science and social studies. I grew up here in Houston and attended Texas State University in San Marcos to major in Elementary Education. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year with wonderful students!
